Muscat is the capital of Oman, the hub of its political, economic and commercial affairs. Muscat is also the home of Sultan Qaboos Bin Said and his magnificent palace, flanked by the majestic forts of Jalali and Mirani, outstanding landmarks of the past.

Salalah, the birthplace of Sultan Qaboos, is the capital of the southern region of Oman, a tropical city, green and peaceful,surrounded by coconut groves and banana plantations. Sandy beaches run along its length and it is linked to Muscat by modern roads. Sur, a sea-faring town, a fishing village and a trading port bustles with activity throughout the year. A century ago, the coastal city of Sohar was Oman's largest city and an important Islamic port. It is still renowned for its largest souq. 

Approximately 175 kms away from Muscat, Nizwa is renowned for its gold and silver handicrafts and its eight kilometer long palm oasis. Buraimi, the oasis city is famous for its spices and palm products. Musandam and Khasab are scenic spots, well known for their unspoiled beauty and timeless past.
